Back in 2013, Pop Chart Labs released the poster of every photographer’s dreams, which featured 100 landmark cameras in history.

Now the group is back with an updated and even more expansive poster, which includes two hundred cameras from 1839-2014.

Way back in 2013, Bryan Chan and some friends from Stanford attached a GoPro to a weather balloon and set it loose above the Grand Canyon.

Unable to find it once it landed, a hiker recently stumbled upon the crashed balloon and returned it to Bryan and his friends!

Matt Doust 1984 – 2013.

Matt Doust, a brilliantly talented artist, passed away Tuesday night at the age of 29.  His large scale portraits displayed an ability far beyond most of his contemporaries and he had a supernatural knack for capturing the light and beauty of his subjects.  I considered him to be one of the best artists at his subject matter and style for his generation.  Born in Santa Monica, California he was raised in Perth, Australia having just moved back to the United States in 2011.  He was named as an Archibald Prize finalist in 2011, Australia’s most prestigious portraiture prize.  Doust suffered from epilepsy and died after a seizure sometime Tuesday night.  Matt Doust is represented by Thinkspace Gallery in Culver City, California.

The Latest in Photo Apps – Photo Hack Day 2013

Photo Hack Day is when photo fans/developers get together for 24 hours and figure out how to hack the planet, or rather how to manipulate APIs to do cool photo stuff!

We picked some of our favorites from the day:

  • Snapcat – A game of ‘catch’ that snaps a photo of your cat every time it paws your screen.
  • Ambeer – An app that analyzes your photos and turns the dominant colors into a pretty light show.
  • Pickle – A Chrome extension that translates words in other languages by showing you photos of that word.

Check out the full deets and read about more of the apps!
